Edit configuration files

| Attention: TrackmaniaServer.org does not offer support for servers with customized configuration files. Please make changes only, if you really know what you are doing and if you have informed yourself strongly about the functions of the desired plugin. |
You can edit some configuration files of your server by visiting the tab Bookingoptions at the Admin-Panel. Thereafter click Advanced Settings -> Edit Config-Files. Now select the desired file and an editor will open. If you made a mistake on configuration, you can restore the original files with one click.

Important information
- Custom config files may overwrite settings made by the regular Admin-Panel
- You can edit non security relevant config files only
- If a new version of the software is available, where your config file points to, the custom config may be deleted to prevent malfunctions. Create a local backup of these files - they are not part of the default backup!
- If you created a config that influences the stability of the hostsystem in a negative way, the config will be deleted (commentless).
- Your custom config files are being loaded even if you select a reinstallation from the Reset-Menu. If there are malfunctions, restore the original files.
- To make your changes take effect, you must restart the complete server. Restarting the servertool only is not enough!
Why can I edit the values on some files only?
Some files contain settings that are set by the system automatically. Those values can not be edited. In that case you see the so called Value-Editor.
What to do if I get errors after making changes on the config?
Restore the original files and restart your server.
Where do I get closer information on the config files?
Most config files point to Xaseco plugins. So please visit the Xaseco Plugin Repository here: [1] and choose the desired plugin. You'll get help on the configuration at the linked Forum-Topics. Most files are well commented, so that they are self-explaining.
